Teen Makeovers - Kelsey's Monochromatic Look

For Kelsey we did a monochromatic look that is perfect for daytime.  Monochromatic just means that it's the same color family from eyes and cheeks, to lips.  Kelsey has blue eyes and fair skin so a color tinted from the orange family of colors look amazing and make her blue eyes pop.  With accessories like that blue flower and peacock inspired earrings she is wearing compliment her eyes even more.

To get Kelseys monochromatic look....

Eyes:
Urban Decay Chopper eyeshadow all over the lid, crease and lower lash line.  This color looks amazing on blue eyes.
Urban Decay Foxy eyeshadow on the brow bone.  (Both Urban Decay colors are from the Naked 2 Palette)
Make Up Forever Aqua eyeliner in Black.
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in Very Black.

Cheeks:
MAC Cosmetics blush in Melba.

Lips:
MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Mocha.

Hair...

Kelsey's hair already had curl to it and it was coarse.  So I took a very hot 1" iron to it to define her natural  curls a little bit more.  Then I seperated each peice.  Hairspray wasn't even needed her hair kept a curl so well!

Prom Makeup and Hair for Bright Colored Dresses

If you opt for a bright color dress, try matching the pop color on your lips.  This looks amazing with spring trends like fuchsia, coral, and berry.  When you do a bright lip, try to tone down your eyes to let your lips shine and not look like your putting on too much makeup.

To get this look....
Eyes: Urban Decay YDK eyeshadow in a smokey eye effect and on the lower lash line.
Urban Decay Bootycall eyeshadow just on the brow bone.
Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes eyeliner in Black and wing it out.
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

Cheeks:
MAC Cosmetics blush in Smile.

Lips:
NYX Round Lipstick in Chloe.

For the Hair...
I used a 3/4" curling iron with Sebastian Shine and Define Setting Spray.  I curled away from the face in sections.  Then combed through the hair with my fingers to soften up the look.  I finished with Sebastian medium hold hairspray.

Teen Makeovers - Tabitha's Easy Natural Look

When it comes to Teen Makeup less is more.  It really doesn't take a lot to make a big impact.  With Tabitha's look we kept it soft and natural.  She has beautiful skin, and just needed a little bit of concealing under the eyes.

To get the look....

Prep:
Make Up Forever All Mat Primer on the face to keep oily skin at bay.
MAC Cosmetics Paint Pot in Painterly on the lids.

Face:
Make Up Forever HD Foundation in 118 mixed with a little bit of an oil free lotion to become more of a tinted moisturizer. (Budget substitute: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation)
Mary Kay Concealer in Ivory 2 just under the eyes to cover dark circles.  I use a fluffy brush to buff out the concealer and make it look more airbrushed.

Eyes:
Urban Decay Busted eyeshadow all over the lid just to the crease with a domed eyeshadow brush. (Found in the Naked2 palette)
Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes eyeliner in black just to darken the lash line. (Any black eyeliner will do.)
Maybelline Great Lash mascara in Black.

Brows:
Filled in with MAC Cosmetics eyeshadow in Espresso with a small angled brush. (Any matte eyeshadow in your hair color)

Cheeks:
MAC Cosmetics blush in Melba. (A peachy color)

Lips:
MAC Cosmetics lipstick in High Tea. (Sheer beige)

To get the hairstyle....

Tabitha has dry and slightly coarse hair so I softened it up with a smoothing cream like Kerastase Lumiere Nutri-sculpt.  Then I just ran a 1" straightening iron to make the hair smooth and tame fly aways.  Finish with a light holding spray and a little embellishment on the side.
*Tip:  Anchor the clip on the side by criss crossing two bobby pins and then place the flower clip over that.

Where to buy...

Maybeline - at drugstores everywhere
Kerastase - Found at high end salons

Party Makeup and Hair

Prep:
Urban Decay Primer Potion on eyelids.
Follow with MAC Cosmetics Paint Pot in Soft Ochre.
For the face use Make Up Forever All Mat Primer.

Eyes:
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Chopper all over the lid and around the tear duct.
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Foxy on the brow bone.
Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes eyeliner in black tight lined in the upper eyelid only.
Loreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black.

Cheeks:
Mary Kay blush in Citrus Bloom.

Lips:
MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Pink Nouveau.

For the hair....

Use a 1" curling iron and curl in sections no larger then 1".  Using a setting spray, curl the entire head of hair then separate each curl to give it life.  Spray with a medium hold hair spray.  Finish off with a cute headband or accessory of choice.  To see a video on how to curl your hair click here.

Prom Season Exclusive! Ashley

The final look in the Prom series is the beautiful Ashley!  She had legs for days and was so photogenic.  For her look I used Naked pigment all over the lid and brow bone.  Brown Down in the crease only and added a bit of Citrine by MAC, a bright citrus green, in the center.  Use black eyeliner only on the top lid and coat on volumizing mascara to the top and bottom lashes.  For her cheeks I used Eversun by MAC and Beige lip gloss by NYX.  She was so fun and I can see a bright future ahead in modeling for her!  Thanks Ashley!

Prom Season Exclusive! Elizabeth

Here is another gorgeous teen, Elizabeth!  She is a natural tomboy and showed up to the shoot with pink streaks in her hair and a flannel shirt.  But she can also glam it up as you can see here!  To get her look I used Naked pigment by MAC all over the lid and brow bone.  I added Mulch by MAC in the crease only.  And Aquadisiac by MAC on the lower lash line.  Add a bit of black liner to the upper lid only and some volumizing mascara.  For her cheeks I used Dame by MAC and Beige lip gloss by NYX.  She was stunning!  I had so much fun working with the petite powerhouse!

Prom Season Exclusive!! Marquel

Prom season is over now and the teens are out of school enjoying their summer.  But this look that I did on the stunning Marquel is great for any occassion!  In this look I used MAC's pigment in Helium all over the lid and brow bone.  Then I used MAC's Scene eyeshadow in the crease only for a little depth.  On her cheeks I used MAC's Well Dressed blush and her foundation in Mary Kay's Time Wise Matte Wear foundation in Beige 4.  Powder in the oil prone areas with a finishing powder like Makeup Forever's HD Powder.  Finally, finish up the look with Mary Kay's Ultimate Mascara in black and NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in French Pink.  We loved the look so much we photographed her in 2 different dresses to show how it can go with a classic or bright colored dress.  She was flawless!
